Cobham is seeking an
IT Service Delivery Intern that will
perform the installation, repair and preventative maintenance of
personal computer and related systems; assists in determining
suitable software to meet user requirements; troubleshoots software
and hardware failures and identifies network problems when they
relate to personal desktop or laptop computers; performs the
installation, modification, testing and servicing on all
internal/in-house data communications network equipment; assists in
the recommendation for improvements and the development of technical
standards; performs work of entry level complexity. This position is
located in Plainview, NY.
Key Responsibilities:
- Train with full-time team members to gain experience and
skills and assist with IT projects
- Collaborate in team meetings and activities.
- Active Directory - add new systems to the network;
unlock/reset user account passwords
- Hardware; complete hardware installations, equipment moves;
BIOS patches; hardware troubleshooting; desktop hardware support
of end user systems.
- Software - install licensed software on workstations.
- Provision/Deployments; Provision user workstations using
LANDESK provisioning utilities; imaging and inventory new
systems for stock; collect and dispose of obsolete equipment.
- Security Patching; ensure user workstations are up to date
with all security patches currently reported as necessary per
LANDESK (LDMS) and McAfee threat protection.
- Ability to learn McAfee threat protection tools.
- Maintain printers and contact vendors for printer repairs
- Participate in safety training and comply with safety policies
and practices.
- Improve and maintain 5S in your area; make suggestions for
improvements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience with customer service.
- 2 to 4 years personal experience or training in Desktop,
Laptop, Printers, Microsoft Operating Systems and software.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple priorities
simultaneously.
- Experience in MS Applications and Operating Systems.
- High school Diploma
- Enrolled in college or technical school, seeking degree in
Computer Science
- US Citizenship or permission to work in the US.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Remote access a plus.
- CompTIA A+ certification
